“It always worked” heard that before. When I bought my Jeep project I asked and the checked for the driveshaft and shifted the t case around. Didn’t notice till I got it home there were NO AXLE SHAFTS

Thank you for this. I have a tractor and if I ever encounter my 4wd not working I’ll give this a go.

The same hubs were on my grandpa's MacDon 7000 hay swather. He would have flip the plate's around to disengage the hub so he could pull it behind his truck to the next hay field. Good time's.

save yourself the trouble of them being rusted, keep it clean and always thin bead silicone the caps after removing! also apply a dab of thick white lithium grease over the pin and bore hole.

That’s your brake release pin. You flip it over and it pushes in the pin to release the internal brakes.

When you turn the cap back over after disengaging the drive hub, they usually pop back out on their own when you drive them. We'll, usually 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Only just learnt this myself the other day when they dragged an almond shaker for a blown turbo. Funny how things just pop up like this. Cheeky lil 200km drive to replace a turbo, not a bad day

While it does sometimes work WD40's function is a water repellant. I prefer PB or Kriol.

That’s a nice lift man. We have electric ones at work and I hate em. I learned on a diesel lift they are much better when using the lift for more than 6-8 hours

I worked on logging equipment for 11 years. That kind of thing is avoidable if you service the hubs after they get immersed. Usually during regular oil changes or brake service. Gyppo loggers tend to be cheap. #FalseEconomy

And yet you don't show it popping out. Dissapointed.

The cover was flipped over which has a tab that pushes the pin in. If thats the way he had it the 4 wheel drive never worked.

When it’s popped out don’t you have to flip the cover over so the pin stays popped out. And doesn’t get pushed back in with the detent
