The way I could see them implementing the hookshot is with a possible upgrade of some sort with his metal arm that would allow Link to grapple onto certain surfaces at first, but then be able to upgrade it again with expensive items to allow you to grapple onto any surface and they could just disable the hookshot when your in certain areas where climbing isnāt available to you
