Worked e recycling up until around June of this year, we would literally get pallets of those iMac g3s. Me and my Co workers would try to save what we could, but we couldn't even give those away by the time I left. Even our Mac collectors we sold to didn't want them. Pretty sure the main people who want them now are retro YouTubers for background props.

It seems like every thrift store around me is raising prices on items that in reality are only becoming more worthless. Value Village used to sell DVD drives for $5, now they're $10. Goodwill is also charging an extra dollar for CDs now. They aren't gonna make any more money by overcharging for things, they're just gonna have to pay more to take perfectly useable items to the dump. It's sad.

Your Goodwill is a hell of a lot nicer than mine. They've been overpricing things mad hard recently. I Can't Buy electronics at the actual retail stores anymore because they're the same price as going to damn Target and buying it. Even shirts, boys shirts the same price as a Walmart, the exact same one you would find at Walmart😂
FR, GW is where I find some of the best gems

I worked at an auction place selling the things your dead relatives leave behind. You mark it with a sticker and we auction it off and give you 60%. We sold that very same iMac for loke $300 because it started a bidding war. But it had everything. Keyboard, mouse, web cam, every wire. Accesssory cables for various functions. It booted and ran. The password was on a sticky note taped to the keyboard. It was... amazing. 😊

Those are outdated boat anchors now.
There was a storefront right near me about 15 yrs ago that sold your items on eBay for a percentage of the sell price or some such arrangement. They had a bondi blue original iMac in perfect condition with kb/mouse and opening bid 99 cents. No reserve.
I knew that NOBODY was going to pay for shipping on that anvil. I put in my 99 cent bid and won.
I traded it way up almost immediately.

I can't imagine finding electronics at all at my Goodwill. It's 95% old dishware and clothes, 5% scratched CDs and records.
