I figured this was easy to use but had no idea how to operate it lol!
I am homeless and was given one so it's good to actually know how to use it.
Thanks for the upload!

52 years ago this coming July, I learned to use it at Ft. Leonard Wood. Either that, or go hungry. Yay for MRE's over C-Rats. No can opener necessary. The P-38 is also a flat screwdriver, and using a corner, can be used as a phillips screwdriver. Thanks for the upload. Keep breathin'.

Learned to use one in 1965 . My father gave me one from Korean war that he carried .
He had a matching one .
My sister has it now and I still carry mine .
I've gutted trout with it , cleaned squirrel, rabbit .
My dad taught me well .
I use a round file to sharpen the inside of the blade. Goes through a can of beans like a hot knife through butta.

The P38 can openers are great. Simple, compact and, reliable. There is no reason not to have a few.

That's not just a can opener. It's the duct tape of can openers.

My grandpa gave me one of these today he told me he used to use these to eat military rations, I think this is so cool.

Also make sure the can doesn't have a pull tab top first

Have used these many times in the field. Good for all kinds of tasks. Not just a can opener. In the field you learn to use everything you have for multiple things.

I still have mine I got in 1980 from basic training in the army, it rides on my keychain. It still has no problems opening cans.

I still have mine that I carried on my dog tags for my 8 years in the Army. With my old arthritic hands, I prefer the P-51 which is just a bigger version of the P-38. With practice you can open a can just as fast, if not faster than an electric opener

Bryan making #Shorts! I bet there was a bit of editing to get it under a minute. I had to poke fun at Bryan since he brings up his rambling in many videos which I find funny that he is getting into making short videos..

My career Army (WWII, Korea and Viet Nam) father carried his WWII can opener on his key chain until his death in 2016. It has been on mine since then and like he did, I keep it sharp! Good video!

I’ve been hard-pressed to find one that works as well. A stellar a piece of kit. They’re easy to use even for left-handers, even though they only work unidirectionally. :)

You forgot to mention the little hole purpose is to hang it on a lanyard and dunk it hot water to sterilise it.
