I do like this, though I wish you could customize a bit more the spells you can get from each kind of land (for example, I wish I could pick Scorching Ray as a 2nd level spell from Arid Land, instead of Blur). Maybe each spell level could have a list of thematically appropriate spells, and when you finish a Long Rest you'd pick one spell for each spell level (either Blur or Scorching Ray, for example).
