People should watch the entire video before commenting. Lots of random comments confused by what information means

Black hole and the human soul are the same after death. Both contains information and eventually lost in space where it all orginates

Theoretically, hawking radiation is from the very fabric of space at the event horizon. It is quantum particles released because the quantum threads have been ripped and severed when the black hole formed. If the fabric of space were not flowing and keeping the event horizon open it would automatically close, or "evaporate". Hawking radiation has nothing to do with information that falls into a black hole. It is radiation leaking from severed quantum threads and the quantum field of space around the black hole. Information however is recycled through black holes and dispersed incrementally throughout all dimensions of the universe which counterbalances entropy. Virtual particles may be part of the process which reemerges from quantum extra dimensions, through quantum black holes all through out space in the midst of quantum fluctuations.

This possibility of the information being stored in another universe is really interesting. Not all universes are likely to be the same. For the information to be stored, does that universe have to have the same fundamental constants and laws as ours? Or could it be a completely different kind of universe? A universe without quantum mechanics, perhaps?

Some may argue that it doesn't matter, as long as the information can be meaningfully retained, but if it's a completely different kind of universe, what form would that information take? Is it possible for there to be universes where the concept of information is meaningless?
Perhaps black holes create a universe 'within' a universe (our universe), with the same rules as the parent universe (ours), rather than being a 'bridge' to a separate universe, which exists independently. But if they are connected by black holes, then the concept of an 'independent' universe may be entirely meaningless. It may be that all universes have been created in this way. An infinite chain of universes connected by the black holes that created them.

I am still sceptical about Hawking radiation. It's a theory, not a scientific fact. And, it's unfalsifiable. Physicists are usually very quick to point out that unfalsifiable theories are not good theories, because we have have no way to test them. But not so with Hawking radiation. Everyone seems to have endorsed it.
Equally, this idea of information being somehow retained at the event horizon of a black hole, is also wildly speculative. Just as unfalsifiable as Hawking radiation, in fact.

Since we don't have an absolute definition of information we will never know.

Sometime, some ideas in science seem acts of faith that the universe acts the way we say it should. If a solution is unprovable (unscientific) all the better. Maybe science will hit a limit to what is provable sooner or later, and educated guesses will be all that's left.

Will someone please explain in a clear and simple way what ā€œinformationā€ means?

Is the information lost if the singularity is just a mathematical and theoretical perspective and a BH is actually exceedingly dense matter whose gravity keeps the photons etc.?

Why does a black hole increase the size of its event horizon as it absorbs more energy? Is there not a direct correlation between the diameter of the horizon and the information absorbed? On the other hand, Hawking radiation, as far as I know, has not been proven or demonstrated. Another curiosity I have is the following: if we could perform the double slit experiment using a black hole as a detector, would an interference pattern be produced or would the wave function collapse?

Although Dr. Ash is great at explaining things, I dislike when physicists do videos about information without detailing what information means.

We create information Everyday. Why isn't that a paradox?
This isn't like destroying energy.
No paradox here

Information is the arrangement of particles. When they fall into a black hole, the particles remain the same but there is nothing holding the arrangement intact, thus the information about that arrangement is lost...thus information is lost.
For example.. an ice sculpture of a swan has the information about a swan. When the ice melts, that information is lost with no indication at all about a swan.

it cannot be destroyed, or created only converted, and the proper term for this conversion would be evolution to evolve the same thing every single molecule that makes up the golden blocks of everything do you should check out my partial equation on this factor it will shed a lot of light on your pre-existing diameters to truly understanding you must forget everything that you have ever been taught not by choice but like myself, I am decided to re-teach myself five hours at a time the only time I have to my existence i'm literally a walk in paradox

Blackhole is like a blender that's why sometimes light is emitted if it's overfull. It's not a gateway to other universes.
