🚶♀️If your child is having health problems, perhaps it’s wise to look deeper into the possible causes instead of just treating the symptoms?
☝️This is meant to empower parents, not shame them. So often we’re told that there is nothing we can do other than medicating the symptoms. How about fixing the root of the problem?
👉 A child’s toxic load is the collection of harmful substances that can accumulate in a child’s body. They can come from many different sources including:
☠️ diet- pesticides, GMOs and seed oils, for example, in food can contribute to allergies and ADHD
☠️ toxic fire retardants found in crib mattresses, car seats and clothing- they have been linked to cancer, hormone disruption, and SIDS
☠️ Cleaning supplies used in the home- these can also contain chemicals that disrupt hormones
☠️ baby creams, soaps and ointments- can contain synthetic fragrances as well as hormone disrupting chemicals that are absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. These have been shown to cause asthma, behavioral problems and even accumulate in the mother’s breast milk
💡Again, this is meant to enlighten, not shame. Doctors can often write off childhood sickness as “genetic” or “normal”, but there may very well be a source of toxins in your child’s environment that they are not considering.
🙌 The good news is…change is possible! If your child is experiencing some of the mentioned symptoms, here are some things you can consider changing:
🌟If you’re child is eating processed foods, switch to an organic, whole food diet
🌟If your child is wearing clothing with synthetic materials, consider switching to organic cotton clothes, GOTS certified, if possible.
🌟Change their crib mattress and car seat to ones that are completely fire retardant-free- including the outer textiles and any foam used inside.
🌟 Switch any cleaning and bathing supplies to ones that are completely free of any synthetic fragrances and other known harmful chemicals.
