Hopefully you are using a skip chain/ rip chain for this. I rebuild chainsaw motors, and have had plenty of customers burn up their motors from an overload to the engine while making boards. When cutting lengthwise , there are specifically designed chains. Hope this info helps someone save their saw a costly repair.
