While I agree that you should be able to choose whoever you want to go to your wedding in this case, I believe op is the ah as is his fiance. Dad's girlfriend did absolutely nothing to deserve being excluded and if this was me and my husband I would rethink going as well.

This really sucks for everyone involved. Trauma really screws over everyone but the person who inflicted it. I don't think that the op is the ah as long as he explained why the invite didn't extend to dad's gf, but I do think that dad and dad's gf are well within their rights to be hurt and choose not to go.

First things first, that jar is made from magic and no one could convince me otherwise. 2. It is their wedding they can invite whoever they want however they are not exempt from consequences.

Invite who you want and let the chips fall where they lay. If you don't want someone at your wedding then don't invite them. If the person you don't want is the dad's girlfriend then expect him to decline the wedding invitation. There will be fallout trust me. I declined a wedding invite and it caused a ruckus. Even with the ruckus I was still glad I declined to attend.

Listen, you can invite/not invite whoever you want for any reason. But your guests can also decline your invitation for any reason. Two way street.
