Let me help you with that verse.
So when you read any book you use not just a sentence but the surroundings to understand what’s going on. The prophet (pbuh) was making dawah and talking to the people. He is saying to the people that he will be the first to submit his will to god, meaning he will lead them by example not just tell them. This does not mean by any means that he was the first Muslim. Muslim means a person who submits the will to God. All prophets preached one creater and worship one creator. So by definition, Adam and Jesus were Muslims. In fact, jesus fell and prayed on his forehead...who does that in 2024? Jesus' mother covered herself...who does that in 2024? I think its obvious that muslims praise Jesus more than christisns do.

For all of you (especially Muslims) who are claiming that the term "Muslim" simply means "submitting to Allah", and therefore Adam, Noah, Abraham, and anyone else who was before Muhammad, were all "Muslim" by definition... well, sorry to break it to you but you need to rethink this shallow claim.
What if I told you that the term "child of God", according to the Bible, means "one who has repented and submits to the Father", and therefore all MUSLIMS by definition are "children of the Father", would you accept this claim?
Allah according to the Quran is NOT a father to anyone nor does he have a son (Surah 19:88-92, Surah 112:1-4, Surah 5:18, Surah 2:116, Surah 6:101, etc).
Also, Muslims according to the Quran are slaves of Allah, and not "children" in any sense of the word.
The Father (Bible) and Allah (Quran) have separate attributes that contradict who they are, which then makes them two different entities.
One has a Son (Jesus) and He also begets children (in a spiritual sense), and the other rejects that he has a son and makes it very clear that he (Allah) does not beget children.
Christians and none of the Old Testament patriarchs and prophets would ever accept the claim that they are "Muslim" because we understand that the god of Islam is simply NOT the same God as the Bible.
The fatherhood of Yahweh is all over the Old Testament.
Lastly, to be a Muslim, one has to also believe in Muhammad.
