By this logic, all guns are magazine fed, just some have fixed magazines that require either a strip clip to striped into it, or a en-block clip to be affixed inside of it.

Heck a pump action shotgun has a magazine. A tube can be a magazine and in fact the worlds first assault rifle was fitted with fast change tube magazines. Look up the air rifle in history. incredible and powerful.

So, the magazine accepts the clip and the rounds are stripped from the clip while it’s in the magazine. The magazine just houses the loaded clip and pushes the rounds to the top
