True, I've seen random artists on twitter make crazy monster designs but we never see them in western media

The ones from Edge of Tomorrow are the best ones I've seen. Very creative.

I've never really noticed that but it makes sense. Hollywood's getting burned out, so I'm not really that shocked that their monsters are the same.

I’ve thought about this before myself. I think it’s because they all have that same halfway unconvincing cgi skin texture, and they’re all purposefully weird body shapes.

The thing had the best creature design. Most original, too.

This is why Nope was such a breath of fresh air. Outstanding monster design, among other things.

Creatives vs Technicians. There's a drought of Creatives in the industry, as odd as it is to think about it. Technicians can make anything look AMAZING with the tools they use in their craft. But it's the Creatives come up with the ideas that blow your mind. Technicians can only go so far before you start noticing the tags are still on the clothes, so to speak.

The crazy thing is that the Godzilla Monsters where here long before most other Hollywood monsters

John Carpenters "The Thing" comes to mind, compared to the movie it was remade from, a huge imagination leap.

They not trying to incorporate new things anymore especially in film, they doing more remakes or copy and paste, all that exploration and creativity they had in the past seems to be put on the back burner for stuff that guarantees or has more chance of success

Not a lot of creativity going on in the entertainment industry. This is why Hollywood is dying.

So what do you suggest? People feel uncomfortable with something new, but stick to "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mind set...cuz it cost $, but they do give new and simultaneously old a chance cuz the old draws them in and the new makes it feel just that, new.
