It blows my mind that LTT doesn't get new devices sent to them by Apple. I know they are notoriously tight about who they send devices to for review, but I can't help but wonder if it's because LTT has historically been pretty negative of Apple.

Can you have a look at the noise level? There are some user reports that the base model‘s fans are quite loud, even while the mac studio is idling. (Apparently the m1 ultra doesn‘t have that problem? Maybe?)

Ah, settling for the base model. But makes sense. When the Ultra shows up you’ll have a nice cross shop comparison with the Max.
