The first mistake is always thinking that ancient civilazions were dumb

People today canā€™t fathom the idea that any ancient culture may have been smarter than us.

They were a civilization that was around for thousands of years and didn't sit around on their phones all day..they were smarter in a lot of ways

It's very rare to find someone comfortable saying "I don't know."

My father was a carpenter, I am 68 years old, so he lived during and after the second world war, and died in the 2000 .
To me he was a genius, and knew lots of skills.
I watched him for a long time.
I was a mechanic in my career.
If you would ask my father to make a door he would hand you a miraculous work of art.
If you asked me, even when I watched him, I would hand you a piece of plywood and 2Ɨ4 studs.
Do you see the difference in a generation from father to son?
Now add thousands of years in human history.
How much is lost in that amount of time.

I canā€™t fathom building the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty with people dangling off ropes and climbing like itā€™s a playground. Our ancestors were badass.

ā€œIt was so trivial it was worth forgettingā€ what a statement

The library that was destroyed possibly had information on the construction of the pyramids. People forget about that library.

What a shame that some of the greatest accomplishments of ancient human civilization have been downplayed by people who canā€™t accept that humans in the past could also be geniuses.

What I hate most about the JRE being on Spotify is the lack of a comment section. I miss getting to scroll through all the speculations.

Ancient people knowing something that has since been forgotten is much more plausible than saying aliens built the pyramids!

Back when artists were engineers and not engineers trying to be artists

Ancient civilizations had time. While we try to do the experiment in a couple years. Some of those grand projects took generations.

The people of that time were very smart. They had sewer systems. They had some type of light that we could use. They were environmentally friendly and didnā€™t think twice about it.

Imagine the key to building these incredible structures was so trivial it was worth forgetting

Ancient Egyptians: "should we write down how we built this?"
"Nah, son, this stuff is easy. But if you want to scribble some porn on the walls, that would be hilarious."

People today canā€™t fathom the amount of knowledge that has been destroyed/lost or what real, hard work people can do when they have to.
