Things I will never know. 44 and the only woman I ever had a connection with (we met at church, went through 101 questions to ask before getting engaged), and I find out 20 years later why she left and I never had a job with benefits since..... A 'friend' talked me into working for him and he fired me at 38 saying (you're too old to get anywhere now) & I found out he physically assaulted the woman I was set to marry, and I left a job I would be making 6x what I make now at 44, with my first taste of a retirement plan (401k, which is all Blackrock which doesn't want me to ever own a home or retire).
