5 blessings is enough for both lion and rellana, if its still too hard then use summons or level up and get better gear. Its only as hard as you make it. For the lion fight i swapped between blasphemous and the solitary moon sword or whatever its called from the dlc based on what "phase" he was in. As for rellana theres not too much i can say besides learn her patterns in the initial, when she starts using her weapons ash. For her magic long sword staying close is the easiest way to dodge, back off when she ignites her flame sword and let her throw a tantrum.

For the most part, the difficulty is very high but manageable. The game provides plenty of tools to deal with its foes, and the number of banger bosses for me is higher than in the base game. However, I do think, especially for two of the final ‘main bosses’ that they overshot a bit, and it’s just so overwhelming that is goes to frustration. Yes, they can be beaten, but was it fun doing so? For a couple of bosses, which are required for completing the dlc I’d say it was not. -first play through thoughts

The bosses that people complain about aren't difficult, they are annoying and not fun to fight because of overscaled damage and bad hitboxes. Rellana is difficult, but she is extremely fun because she is fair to fight. She doesn't rely on janky hitboxes or extreme damage to make the fight difficult it's her extremely good moveset that makes it fun, the Dancing Lion and Messmer are similar in that way. I wish they could've kept it up all the way through because even though I beat it without summons I did not have a good time with the final boss, it felt like a chore and ended up extremely dissapointed by the end. And before anyone asks I was at level 17 scadutree fragments and had the best armor possible without fatrolling, but still got one shot by most attacks, it just feels like lazy design to me when things do full healthbars of damage, and sadly a lot of the really cool bosses in the DLC rely on that to be "difficult".

they stated multiple times that this DLC would be the most ambitious project to date. Not to mention if you have a solid build with the right talismans, buffs, armor buffs, great runes, +25 weapons etc you're fine. Having something nowadays holding true to the infamous fromsoftware difficulty is MUCH needed especially with the new players that got hooked on elden ring.
