God seems to have become an unfalsifiable claim.
"There is an undetectable God in this box". While I might say "no there is not", what we all mean is, "I don't believe you," or "I remain unconvinced", while a theist somehow is convinced, and we want to know the sufficient reason that they are convinced.
When a scientist claims that there is an invisible magnetic field in this box, we may at first be unconvinced, but they demonstrate how they became convinced (show a compass, instruments’ readings, and/or the source of the magnetic field, test results, etc. (falsification criteria). Note: if the scientist is currently unsure – they do the work BEFORE making the claim and becoming convinced.
We are simply asking for the same courtesy.

We usually DON'T state that there is NO "god".
Just that we do not believe the theist's claims that there is one. Usually down to a TOTAL LACK OF ANY DEMONSTRABLE EVIDENCE.
