My Nigerian wife chose to wear hijab, abaya and niqab when we lived in KSA. We are Christians but she wanted to “fit in.” She wore a black mesh niqab. She liked being very covered up, she said it was incredibly liberating to choose that as it frees women from the strictures of societal norms that demand a lot of exposed skin and suggestive clothing to be desirable or attractive. We lived there for over 10 years and got so acculturated and our daughters were raised there until adulthood, that they still wear hijab and abaya here in Florida. Muslim fashion is incredible!
