Well, not wrong but outdated. Times have changed ⬇️
My old study abroad advice does not apply in current scenario and this is what I would change:
1. Study abroad is NOT a no brainer anymore
With entrepreneurship booming and economy performing well, your options to start up or work in high salary jobs have widened in India. Now, study abroad is lucrative only if you are middle class with limited prospects in India and you can see clear upside by moving abroad which means you think you can get high paying jobs after your education.
2. Job search cannot be too narrow
Earlier, it made sense to being more selective and apply to jobs that you really wanted and keep waiting for the right one. However, you cannot afford to be picky in this crazy job market.
3. Don’t go as a fresher unless you have done good internships in India
4. Do proper financial management in choosing universities
Dont go by rank or cost alone, optimize for ROI. Going to really low ranks can hurt you if you have to move back to India prematurely and choosing something very costly can put immense burden on you. Look for high ROI unis (we have done many lists on our YT channel)
5. Funding entirely by education loans is not a prudent idea
