I have two very important "Lily's" in my life. One of them is a rowing double scull called the Capital "Lily", owned by a friend of mine. That boat represents what has become a couple of my most important friendships in my life- forged at 5:15am, all summer long. Whether rowing in the boat or alongside the boat, the Lily is always with me providing company, encouragement, and a kick in the rear when I need it. Ha. And, my other "Lily" is my music teacher from college, though everyone called her Liliane, to me she remains just Lily - and was always a place of acceptance and safety while I was in a critical time of growth musically and headed into this crazy career. This piece, while not related to rowing or singing... just the reminds me of my lilies... those who have made me feel an infinite amount of safety and acceptance, and have helped push me to achieve beyond what I thought I could.
