Been there,done that. I made an Aran jumper for my sister's grown son, and, five days before Christmas, found out that it was too small. It fit my sister! Then I had to run out and find a pattern and yarn for a simpler jumper and get it done in time for gift-giving. I managed it, but it meant an awful lot of frantic knitting.
