Revolvers have their niche use, same as bolt actions rifles. They're basically as simple as you can get and simple has its advantages.

Revolvers still have a place, and they aren't necessarily "outdated." Of course, they don't have a place in modern combat, but there isn't an automatic pistol you can get chambered in .454 casull and easily strap on your belt, go in the mountains, and drop a grizzly bear at near rifle ranges, there are things like the dessert eagle but compared to basically any revolver it's utterly massive and generally impractical in any situation

Revolver might not have a great place on the modern battlefield. But theyâre still used there. Theyâre great for water operations as they drain almost instantly. Theyâre also great for self defense angainst 4 legged and 2 legged predators, typically offering more powerful rounds in smaller packages.

Revolvers are one of the only guns that won't jam. U play too much video games bc if you think they're a thing of the past you'd be more than wrong. Ruger still produces them bc they're considered one of the more reliable handguns with few flaws and it's easy to use.

Revolvers still have modern applications, revolvers are used for breaching elements that use a shield. You don't want a slide hitting the shield you're trying to fire from behind.

Revolvers fit a niche in handguns, they are often made to fire intermediate cartridges that are very uncommon in your typical handgun and don't really appear in rifles or machine guns.

Revolves do have a place in video games, at least imo.
In video games itâs hard to make pistols fill a specific role, most modern pistols are all chambered in 9mm/45, etc and hold around 10-18 rounds. They pretty much all do the same shit with a different skin. When you add a revolver into the mix you get a very high damage, slow fire rate, with low capacity option. Kinda adds variation. Revolves feel like the bolt actions of the pistol world.
Also, In the real world youâll notice revolvers are marketed towards hunters, the reason why is because revolves are the only action you can really trust with calibers large enough to stop large game ; so If a grizzly or a moose is ever charging you, you wouldnât be at the mercy of a bolt action to defend yourself.

Insurgency is one of the most intense fps games Iâve ever played, they could almost use it as a war game of it was vr, could be an actual valuable training aid. The game keeps blowing my mind. Never before have I been under IDF and felt like Iâm actually in danger.

One of the only advantages i see in using revolvers is how strong the construction is, as in how you could put much stronger cartridges in it.

I think theyâre effective, but not as efficient as a gun with a higher round count. If youâre shot with a revolver it will still kill you
