Kudos to Blizzard for trying to tackle the problem from this angle. It's not always just the mechanics/rules/numbers that make things bad, it's also the environment and people you're forced to be around.

The only people complaining about the leaver penalty are the exact people that make it necessary. It's so incredibly easy to avoid the penalty - just don't leave your games.

No spectator chat ruins the fun!!! I often stack with friends and our group is so big that sometimes, someone will be stuck watching while we rotate. I personally donât care if I see spectators chattting, even if itâs clearly an inside joke with a friend. The only thing they shouldnât be allowed to type is âcan I joinâ or some variant. They should just replace the text like they do with gg ez.

I have personally experienced playing a game where someoneâs friend will spectate them and want to join them and ask me to leave so they can join their friend. Then when I refuse, they get all toxic and start trash talking me, even to the point of requesting I be reported. Both people in that game started trash talking me cuz I didnât sacrifice my fun so they could play together. Itâs just one game. Why should I leave my game just so you can join your friend? If you want to join your friend, kindly wait patiently for the game to be over and group with them after. Those kinds of spectators are the ones that they are referring to. Iâm gonna love this new change to chat.
