Here are 5 things you must check before you decide on the Name of your Startup…

👉🏼 Check availability of the Domain name in dot com and other extensions as you’d prefer

👉🏼 Check the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) website to see if the name is not already taken by anyone in the same industry as you, else you’ll need a No Objection from them, which you’ll almost never get.

👉🏼 Do a Public Trademark search on not just the Indian trademark website but also in other countries where you’d want to operate in the future.

👉🏼 Check that it doesn’t have a foul or undesirable meaning in any other language of the world

👉🏼 Get your friends and target customers to read out your name, pronounce it as well as spell it so that it’s easy for everyone to remember and communicate
