Dr. Peterson never stated anything that specifies trans people in this clip, it's out of context, and note that while he says the "classical" way of doing that is through a male and female father and mother, he leaves room for nuance. He's repeatedly stated that he refuses to take a stance either way because the argument is fundamentally flawed, and people either try to use his influence to push their ideology against trans people, or use it as a trap to frame him as being anti-trans, of which, he is neither. He does make some points on the logical issues in trans cultural movements impact on children who may not have true gender dysphoria, but he rejects being put into a box by people on either side of the argument.

This clip seems very out of context. Peterson always talks about how individual identity is primary. But this clip is seemingly in opposition of that.
Also this doesn't even seem to have anything with being trans. The point i here made is "If you don't do things that you are classically biologically inclined to do in the way everyone else is you will be unhappy."
Dr. Peterson talked about how biological differences and markers cant be ignored but because we are human and not lobsters, we do have a lot control over how we proceed. His analogy is this; The biological markers are like the rules of chess, in order to live/play the game you must be guided by these rules. However there are many ways a piece can move alot of them equally valid.
So when you say, "Don't point out the exceptions they don't = the rule" because individual identity matters so much the exceptions have just as much validity as the rule. You can live fulfilling lives even if you find different ways to fulfill them.

... What was his point? Trans people actively fulfill their roles as parents and grandparents every day.
Also, what's with the huge assumption that 25% of our time would be spent "playing out" male and female?? We're talking about people who simply wish to live their lives in a physically comfortable fashion, so what's with all the focus on some imaginary role they're supposedly "playing"??

Extremely poor argument against trans people. There are plenty of heterosexual couples who never have children, because they can’t, don’t want to, etc. This completely disqualifies the meaning of their “role”, as he puts it. And what about gay couples who don’t adopt or conceive? Let’s say two men. How is child rearing a significant aspect of the make gender role in that case? Very flimsy argument built on some weird assumption that the primary purpose of gender roles is child rearing, which many do not do or even wish to do. Especially flimsy considering transgenderism and post modernism don’t “blow that up”, many trans people are still fully capable of having children.
Blocking this channel after this. Very tired of seeing these sorts of videos on all forms of social media, extremely low effort reupload of someone else’s controversial content so that you can clout chase using people’s negative energy to generate interaction. All you do is point at your title for two seconds and hope that people will be angry enough on either side of the issue to comment and boost the algorithm. Well congrats, you get a comment from me. Put more of yourself into helping people and lifting others up instead of this pathetic sort of thing, or risk being a terrible person.

Jordan Peterson is a father figure, what he is doing is basically telling the kids to stop running around the house and do your homework.
