Vusi Thembekwayo tells how sometimes our heroes can let us down.

Neil Armstrong, a childhood hero of Elon Musk, inspired Musk's journey into space exploration. However, when Musk founded SpaceX to revolutionize space travel with private commercial flights, Armstrong became a critic. Along with other Apollo-era astronauts, he voiced concerns about private companies taking over NASA's role.

For Musk, this was a bittersweet moment, realizing that even heroes can resist change. Armstrong, once a groundbreaking innovator, was skeptical of a new era led by private companies. This highlights how those who once broke barriers may resist challenges to the status quo, as their identities are tied to the existing paradigm.

innovators seem insane at first, then everyone asks them how they knew it would work. But it takes immense faith to pioneer and sometimes those you look up to, don't have the same level of faith.

No champion feels comfortable with been standardized by the incentive of a phenomenal genius because it rewrites the conception of history and cast the former into the limbo of hell..

but irrespective the parameter of growth and existentiality must take its course with its definition .

Same heroes forgot that they also were thought to be crazy at some point, it's good to disappoint your heroes, they also disappointed some people...

Honestly: I view manned (commercial) space mostly as a huge waste of resources. There are plenty of other technical and logistical challenges to solve. I personally am convinced that many of the solutions can become profitable.

Alas, all that manned spaceflight has, and will continue to deliver, is empty prestige.

Ultimately, it's Elon Musk's money and he can spend it as he sees fit.

Again tbh : I would be far more impressed by the development of robust systems that can store electrical energy for use in power grids.

Space-rockets are ultimately just phaluses that can fly.
