This is true and very valid, I can confirm as a bi-weekly forever DM of 6 years. Don't feel down from all the criticism, the DnD community is so overwhelmingly full of armchair experts who've never even played a game except that one time they joined an Adventurers League session.

Better tip, take your time on DM turns. Its less engaging if its poorly thought out or rushed. But make it interactive with the players.

This is not true, most players don't want to do anything unless it's scripted, if you give your players an open world they won't do jack shit and that's due to the fact that most people are followers.
