Soreness isnt an indicator of training too hard, its an indicator that you recovered like shit

Fair. I have days where I just get sore so fast for seemingly no reason. A big part of my routine is hiking because I have a mountain right next to my house. Sometimes I’ll hike for hours and go pretty hard and I’ll feel fine the next day, but sometimes my legs feel like they’re about to fall off ten minutes in and I’ll feel it for the better part of a week. I know that the longer, harder hike was way better exercise than the short one. It doesn’t matter if I’m not as sore.
I feel like this is a more gym-goer specific problem tbh. They’re the only type of exercise-focused person that is trying to feel bad. Everyone else is usually focused on feeling better and making steady improvements while the gym bros are focused on tearing their muscles up as hard they can, sometimes to the detriment of their own health and well being.
It’s a mindset thing, I guess
