My childhood house had a constant ladybug infestation, felt like every morning there was a new carpet of them on the ceiling that id end up watching my dad vacuum ๐
. And tbh ive noticed that for me root rot smells really close to what those guys smelt like back then

I've knowingly released ladybugs in my house before, but haven't been randomly greeted by them like this hahaha ๐

You got them for free. Some people pay to have them. I catch 4 or 5 and put them in my plants.
