I don't always ski/ride in the backcountry, but when I do I prefer to sit in avalanche paths while watching my friends come down... Avalanche awareness is so old school.

Dude on the snowboard stopped in a terrible spot. I have the same bad habit but have been lucky so far. I hope everyone got out safe

Why didn't you finish the video and show what happened to the person who got swept away.

So what does the skier do after they trigger it? Do they ski down the part where the avalanche has already passed or go down on the powder?

Where in the world is Tuckerman’s Ravine? Not that I’m heading there to experience being buried in an avalanche, but I’m just a geography geek. Thanks for sharing!

Yep really stupid to sit in the middle of a spill way then have a skier cut the mountain directly above your head. Text book for everything NOT to do. Guessing everyone was Ok consider yourselves lucky.

Minimal snow cover yet still an avalanche. Always gotta be alert off piste.

Note to self: Sitting below potential trigger points in terrain traps does not equal a safe zone. At least they went 1x1

Best advice for spots like that of you're scared of an avalanche, stop beneath the rollers and get out your shovel.

No way they should've been on that snow. Wasn't it closed like 2 weeks ago due to ice?
