Actually on Pixel you have 2 types of the magic eraser. There's the local hardware one, that works directly on your device, and it's pretty fast, but works way worse and doesn't require Internet. And it does have the cloud based one, that requires a connection, and need your photo to be backed up, and does the job on Google's AI cloud, and works better.

There are two types of magic erasers on Pixel, there's the local one, and then the cloud based one, the cloud based one is accessed by pushing the colorful button in the bottom corner

Click on the coloured box in the bottom left corner and then do it. It would do generative fill and give you multiple options to choose from. It's better that way.
