An extra way to softlock yourself:
Go into the optional fortress at world 7 with a frog suit, clear out all bombs in a specific room, and realise you canβt get out because of one way pipes and you canβt slide because of frog suit

Oh, awesome! It happens alot in Super Mario Maker 2, but I never, the creators of Super Mrio Brothers 3 accidentally lets you get softlocked there.

It's fun to find things like this that you have to be REALLY specific in order to softlock yourself.
There's a channel out there that hunts for really complicated softlocks in Pokemon games, it would be fun to do the same for Mario games.

My spouse's phone is out of data til the first and they are a bit fussy about it. Dani has autism and agere (age regression). They were watching this with me while regressed and it made them smile. They even giggled a bit. Very funny stuff! Made our night

I actually softlocked myself in that place in a different way as a kid... I believe that I accidentally pixel jumped into the middle of that thing without clearing the top. I used the shell wrong...
