I am from britain and a scotch egg is a large part of my culture. I usually have them in my lunch and their one of my favourites. The one you made was quite small to be honest but still that looks scrumptious.

Scotch eggs aren't normally soft boiled. Its a picnic food here in the UK and is usually eaten a fair while after its cooked. "Proper" scotch eggs are all hard boiled so it "keeps" a bit longer.

In india specifically in the state of west bengal we have something like this called dim er chop (dim means egg). This is an boiled egg wrapping in spiced mashed potatoes and sometimes ground chicken in also mixed in the mashed potatoes then it is coated in bread crumbs and deep fried. You eat this with kashundi (bengali mustard sauce) and katchup .
