Case Description:

Gaurav Kumar is from the Bihar city of Patna. When this fraud was perpetrated on him, he was only 10th Passed and only 23 years old.

His Father-in-Law had given him a sum of 10-12 lakh rupees to invest in business.

He met with Kamru Jamal, an ICICI Prudential employee, who advised Gaurav to invest the money in ICICI Prudential for better returns.

Two insurance policies were issued in his name, each with a premium obligation of Rs. 2.5 lakhs, and the remaining funds were invested in a fixed deposit, to be used one year later to pay the renewal premiums on these two policies.

Gaurav Kumar was duped into investing twice in these policies, and now he realizes that his money was invested in insurance plans that required him to pay a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs every year for the next ten years, and because he is unable to continue premium payments in these policies, the insurance company has forfeited the entire sum of Rs. 10 lakhs and Gaurav is owed nothing.

In reality, Gaurav Kumar was not an ideal candidate for these insurance policies, and these policies would not have been issued in the first place if the insurance company and the agents had followed the proper procedures and done their jobs diligently.

Gaurav has now contacted Insurance Angels, and we will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the mis-sold policies are cancelled, and that the premiums that were incorrectly deposited toward the policies are refunded to Gaurav in his bank account.
