I think it’s less of Kratos being too soft and more maturing and taking care of those that he has in his life. The 2018 reboot was about him learning to be father and growing the relationship with Atreus. In Ragnarok, it’s a simple continuation of that and more.

Bro it’s character development kratos will still kill a god If need be, but he doesn’t want to, same reason why he didn’t want to fight freya he saw her as a friend and didn’t want to have to kill her.

I love the character development in god of war it’s amazing but it would be so cool to see him go on another god killing rampage. And if we never have another killing spree then maybe we’ll get a remake of the previous games.

I like the new kratos. I just wish hed let more of his old self come through every now and again. I wanted to fight with thor to be climatic and it certainly started that way but the 2nd fights ending was so...boring. I know everyone wanted to see thor redeem himself but thats boring. I just wish they weren't trying to push this "we must stop being violent!" So so so hard.

His character development has been incredible to be honest. I love the direction that the games are going in and can’t wait to see what the next game brings.
