I remember when I first encountered Diablos. With World being my first MonHun game, I had no clue what to expect, beyond the name sounding like Diablo thus making me think it'd be some sorta horned fire monster.
Let me tell you; seeing that monstrosity slowly emerge from the falling sand wall legit sent shivers of fear down my spine.

My favorite monster. So incredibly iconic with the neck armor and curled horns. It's always given an important role in games, usually as a wall monster. Meant to teach newbies a lesson and check their gear and mechanical understanding before they're allowed to progress.
I've hunted probably a hundred diablos across several games now and I still get my shit kicked in. But if you want to learn CB guard points or even general shield play there's no better monster. Well telegraphed attacks that are heavy enough to still stagger on a normal block, so perfect guards are highly rewarded. It's also large enough that you don't have to try super hard to land SAEDs.

Its likely the reason the blos wyverns kept their wings is likely as thermal windows, due to both their size and life in the desert

Maybe it's because of the fact that diablos feed on relatively scarce patches of cacti that they're so aggressive

This monster scared me when I fought it in Generations Ultimate. One time when me and my pals were fighting it, I stepped off to a faraway spot to heal up. Then when the Diablos turned towards me, it came charging all the way from across the area just to attack me.

I’m still not convinced that they aren’t occasionally spotted eating flesh or bones for the extra boost of nutrients
