As a "youth voter", we don't vote because we don't want to contribute to the horrible stuff that's happening. If you vote for presidents, you have to pick for whoever is less evil - they're both horrible.
Any government role that requires a voting position and multiple people running? They usually say some really messed up things about eachother and the public, which makes us not want to vote for/against them at all.
Laws? You really have to read it line by line at this point because those PSAs telling you to be "for" or "against" something only give you a single bullet point, which means most people aren't making a fully-informed decision.
Plus, a lot of these politicians are always talking smack about the "youth voter" generation - Gen Z. Why would we want to vote for someone who belittles us, talks smack about us, always tells the world how we're super irresponsible, lazy, have no work-dedication, and are phone addicted? If they can't see past us beyond broad sterotypes, why would we want to vote for them?
If you want youth voters to vote, give us good reasons beyond "having your voice heard."
We're used to people saying they hear us when they don't. Give us new reasons, better reasons. Give us a reason to believe we'll be helping instead of being one vote in a sea of millions that won't matter because everything's corrupt and is going to go horribly wrong anyway.
