I am so over plastic bags, but also so not washing a reusable trashcan liner. I have a life. The answer are new bio-plastics made entirely from plant material--they look and feel like plastic. However, companies innovating these products are still new and such bags don't appear to be yet available in US markets. I will wait.

I use paper bags and staple once at the top.

None of these are particularly helpful. I have a huge bin and would need to wash it daily to prevent bad smell.

I would love to not use plastic bags for my bin, but these alternatives are not even worth being alternatives. :'(
