You can only experience that much joy when you have experienced the suffering of learning and understanding. I am not talking about cruelty and wars.

All evil comes from carnal desire and ignorance of truth.
Selfishness. Envy. Anger...etc. They form selfish false 'suffering' - but true suffering is the strong breeze which makes the trunk and branches thick and strong. True suffering is the drought which makes the roots grow deep. True suffering is the brush fire which toughens the bark. Only through this suffering can the tree grow powerful and bare honest worthy fruits.

Suffering also clarifies and brings people closer to the God.

Learning how to be truly compassionate can also come from suffering. So I donât know if his statement is really true but I get some of the message he is trying to put across. We also need to learn to appreciate what we have and learn to enjoy and celebrate the miracle of life.
