I worked at a handmade leather boot factory, we carried all sizes from 3AAA to 16FFF. Not in all styles, but for the main last styles.

I always error on sizing a bit large on length and width. If you keep your boots for years, you will likely notice they get more and more snug. Well, your foot settles and grows as you age. If you’re buying cheaper boots, like Thursdays, you might not care. But if you’re buying some John Lofgrens or other well made boot that’s going to last for decades, then size up. But I’m not sure if the current boot generation will still be wearing the boots they buy today in 10, much less 25 years. I have pairs that are older then 95% of the subscribers to most boot channels.

I’ve been watching your long form videos for a couple years now, so these shorts aren’t really teaching me anything new. HOWEVER they’re really well done; short and to the point and very informative to anyone just getting into this. Keep up the good work!

My foot size is 9.5D

My boot brand is Grant Stone. I tried their 9D it fits. But i find 8.5E the perfect fit. i also try and buy one 8.5D to really test it. But had to return them. With trial and error i find the best boot size for me.

7.5x5e, my foot is wider around than it is long. However, 5e is the widest stock size that jk boots makes without having to go full custom and $100+ more expensive, so I’m all good.

See, now, that’s great information. Also, it’s hard to find a store with those foot measuring things.

I am living proof that 3E is not enough... I measure out at sasquatch-esque 5E...

He is right 3 E is most commonly the widest option... So I always end up with boots that are a size or two too large.

lol. Size 3D/E here, with narrow heel. sort of like, trying to put a boot on a duck. Not such an easy size to find, but so worth it.

Sizing is not standard even within the same brands sometimes.

EE + is nearly impossible to find off the shelf for boots.

I'm at 6E, AND my feet are super short.
I am by all means walking around with duck feet.

Hey yall, I wear an 8.5 EE in my ariat boots , but I've been looking at getting a pair of the redwing iron rangers. Should I stick to the 8.5 EE for the iron rangers? I don't want to waste $300 on a boot that doesn't fit lol

what's the make of the last suede boots to appear in the video ?

12 or 13 E/EE here. It always depends on the boot maker. Some I can be comfortable in a 12. Some I need a 13. But I always need an E at a minimum.
