555 circuits are fun. I made a crazy box in my high school votec class. Had LEDs, a strobe, alarm, buzzer and 7 segment display clock that you could set an alarm time with. Took me like 3 months of tests and failures to get it all to work.

You really want to go into radioelectronics and understand such things in depth to make your own projects, the creator at least could have put up a schematic briefly. Also there is nothing wrong about schematics "on air"(as opposed to PCBs), with enough skill they can turn out quite pretty
