And while I don’t go for networking events anymore, this seemed like a good opportunity to talk about the education & career hurdles faced by Indian students in the US with Adele who now heads the education portfolio at the US Embassy in Delhi 🇮🇳
A big shout out to all the audience on @scholarstrategy and @24northstar who make our voices heard in the far corners of the rooms that matter. As India sends one of the second largest student population to the US, shouldn’t our woes be heard with more sensitivity? I keep trying to do my part - to raise awareness, to question the unfair visa policies and to ask for smoother immigration and employment.
I also asked the college board representative about the decreasing relevance of SAT and GRE tests. And I met the R&D heads of various unis including Harvard.
The message from embassy was clear - they want to see more international students esp Indian women in the US universities. So, if you have been wanting to study in US, go for it 💪
