I agree, but as a parent with a deadbeat coparent I dream of having one of these great co-parenting relationships. My parents were not best friends, but stayed civil enough to be supportive of each other and share holidays which meant A LOT to me as a kid

Seems it would make most sense to the two involved in the co-parenting relationship. Even without kids that dynamic is a handful and I’ve never seen it work out - but maybe that’s why they said brother and sister, because genuine familial love can be strong and cultivated to feel it will always be there. Once you have kids maybe the idea of that seems to work out
I wouldn’t assume it would be the healthiest to remain established in a relationship that wasn’t standing the test of time. If I thought about it as best friends then I can see way more plot holes in the story, but considering they have kids, I understand the reach to a family archetype because in the end you’re always gonna have that connection. Not always possible to have that kind of compassion, but if it’s possible I think it could work out because it isn’t about the relationship it’s about the kid and being mature about what you really want in your life
Best friends though makes me think about a totally different dynamic, cause I’ll see people play that game and they don’t even need to have kids for you to know that’s not looking right. The mentality is what sticks

Cool co-parenting with an ex spouse whom feels like a brother or sister makes sense to me , especially when there is zero romantic sexual attraction anymore.

I appreciate the info. As a Venus 12H, open relationships are rather familiar yet taboo so it’s dope to hear someone apply that in a non-judgmental way.
