I've been looking for a video like this for months. Finally someone who knows what they're talking about! Thanks for the video, new customer.

That's a great video! I used to drink Canarias but I find it too strong especially because I drink alone. My favourite yerba today is Sara, it's an uruguayan type made in Brazil, it tastes delicious and has the right amount of caffeine for me.

Rick's wide selection of brands makes him my favorite yerba mate seller. Just brought Selecta Premium and I love it. Canarias and Taraqui are among my favorites too.

Nice video, but there is a real lack of some good Brazilian Erva Mates (portuguese) on your shelves like: Sabadin (one of the best, if not the best Brazilian Erva Mate), Ximango, (the second best in my opinion), Vier, Laranjeiras, Madrugada, Barão de Cotagipe, Tertúlia, Nutri Mate, 81, Yacuy, Rei Verde and Valério. You should try them all. Brazilian Erva Mate are strong and more "full-bodied", specially the green versions, with a shorter ageing time.

Awesome video, great job describing the different grinds and components (leaves, stem, dust) of yerba. Personally, I drink Taragui Blue (sin palo) as my everyday yerba of choice but the other brands are also great. I'm so glad that you can enjoy it too in the US. Best regards from Argentina! cheers.

thank you for helping educate the world about this wonderful plant, i myself am a rosamonte especial lover and wanted to help clarify that this one is aged for two years, but you are right about there being no "best yerba" as they all offer something special, i read that all yerba is basically organic since no pesticides are used. salud !

Is smoked mate and even unsmoked mate bad for you with PAH's from the process over the fire? I'm worried due to it being possibly cancer causing. I would like a yerba mate that has no contact with smoke from fire.

The one you have on the shelf, the one with the horse on it, is the only one I use. Nothing else. It goes down smooth, has great flavor, and is just amazing.

Thanks for that! I'm new to mate & loving it very much. I appreciate you sharing the your knowledge & now I know what I'm getting into more. Playadito is the only brand available at my grocery store, but I ordered several different kinds to find out what my favorite is :)

Hi! I wanted to ask if the brazilian Cha mate leão is just roasted yerba mate? I grew up with it as a child but live in europe now and no tea shop seems to have it😢

Which would you recommend for someone who wants to try yurba mate for the first time? I prefer smoother tasting teas generally but am willing to try new things.

Very good video ;-) I recommend anyway, to get La Selva (para nerviosos) there are more variants, which is the most similar in taste to Canarias with all the smoke and flavor but without causing your heart to beat the heck out of your chest :)
