This actually seems like a great way to break down results for patients so they can actually take control of their health care decisions.

I live in Japan and this actually saved many lives of people I know. I feel like lots of people assume that if it’s Japanese it’s some way dystopian but it’s really not, also if your wondering they don’t fire you if you get a bad score.

I thought you're getting body graded by the internet. Thank goodness it was just the clinic 😂

Imagine a nerd focussing her whole life on getting good grades just to get an average grade at something neglected along the way. The humor in that amazing

I figured the assessment will be in Japanese, so it was really nice to see that they gave it to you in English 😊

It gets better: Because many people work the same job for years, the results track across years, so it turns into a graphical representation of weight gain / loss, body fat %, cholesterol or whatever. It's a pretty powerful way to help people maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Also, it cost nothing out-of-pocket because her company is paying significant insurance premium, which includes this.

Japan's healthcare is very good, but you need to have insurance. Without that it is quite expensive.

When I got this, I was told I needed to consult a doctor. They found out I had an estrogen deficiency and subtle scoliosis. I was prescribed estrogen supplements and I'm doing MUCH better now. I used to have alot of pain when I was working out but now it's much easier

It probably saves a lot of people’s lives. For example, if you had cancer or any disease and were unaware, that system would probably catch it early on increasing your chances of survival. I think it’s a genius system.

Bonus Information:
It's an annual thing to do to check on the employees if they're fit or not. You can say it's a paid diagnosis from the company you work at.
I got B Obesity so I just trained myself to stop eating and knew that I eat a lot because of the stress the company given me.
There's more additional detailed informations that you can see on the result, for example, low blood pressure etc.
Oh and the graded body's criteria is the average number of Japan's

I wish more countries would do that. Often I feel like you have to convince your doctor to investigate and run tests when you feel something is wrong and most of the time if you're not old they'll be like "oh you're young, it's nothing, it's in your head, go home 🤡". If everyone had their body screened and graded every years they could detect and treat thing before it becomes a big disabling/life threatening thing

In Korea you are required to get a healthcheck every year as well. It includes hearing and sight tests. But they don't give you a grade. They just determine if you are capable to work your job.
EDIT: A lot of Americans are jumping to assumptions so allow me to explain.
Your job receives an official document with a list of pass/fail grades for common health conditions. If you fail, they are required to send you to a doctor for further evaluation. There you will receive an official document from the doctor with any requirements necessary for your condition(additional breaks, less working hours) and the workplace is required to add these to your contract to ensure your health and safety.

I think its a great idea for companies in Western to adopt this. Not to discriminate employee - but more to help motivate them to stay healthier with their life. At the end of the day, its their own choice whether to do something about their health or not. Though a free annual reminder probably not a bad idea as most of us often too busy to remember to do health checkup.
