Hey friends! Here's to a good Tuesday to you all!
Today's short features one of my more modern faves...and yes even though it's been over 35 years they've existed, I feel I need to classify Tool as modern. From my introduction to them in the 90's when I had all but given up on most metal I was hearing, these guys were a breath of fresh air to my ears. (Especially through the 2000's nu-metal era)
From their EP "Opiate" to this, their full length debut, "Undertow" it was pretty clear, if they stuck around, they would be a band I'd be keeping my ear open for. Here we are all these years later and although one can only draw from 5 studio albums (the latest of which "Fear Inoculm" came 14 years after their 4th - 10,000 Days), I am confident in stating they are one of the most important and influential metal/prog bands of the late 20th and early 21st century. And for those who know, this isn't even including the members other various projects which are also some of my faves.
It is difficult to get my hands on official studio albums in vinyl, so this is only number 4 including this and their EP from 1992. The others I have are Fear Inoculum box set - 2019, and Lateralus - 2001 (lots of unofficial available if one is interested in those...I'm not).
So although I have them all on compact disc (o.k. compact disk for my U.S. friends ๐) I am on the lookout for AEnima - 1996, and 10,000 Days - 2006, to complete my Tool catalogue on vinyl.
Anyway! Enough of my babbling. Hope you enjoy this one. See you next time. Take care everybody.
Cheers! ๐ปโ๏ธ
