I’m 17 I still believe in the old school way that my dad taught me and my older brothers. No matter if you are dating or not always go to the door and walk down to the car with them. I always bring flowers for my girlfriend and open the door for her and treat her as she should be any chance I get I’ll try and have a relationship that’s not all tech. I also make sure she is ok with it all as well and most importantly she’s comfortable with the state of the relationship. We are the ones in control of this and this is a sad reality that relationships have changed into this

Once dated a guy that came to my house, sat down with my dad and chatted. He then asked if he could take me out on a date.. My dad said as long as we take my little sister.
So we went and he paid for me and my sisters meal.
Dad never forgets him, he made a great impression on him.
He continued to pursue me but unfortunately I was depressed and not in the right mindset. His sister was also my one of my bestfriends from the military and he and I were still in those first stages where I could choose not to continue. I already knew I wasn't a healthy person to be with at the time and I did not want to put my sister (friend) in an awkward position.
Tragically, he went missing and was pronounced dead 😢 I'll never forget the way he treated me and how he was so kind to me when I was so lost and broken 💖
