DNF. Did Not Finish. Despite all of the training, sacrifice and efforts for months and years - most ultra runner will experience this difficult outcome. It can be difficult to deal with this, but failure is part of success, and a DNF is an important tool to improve as ultra runner - using a failure to grow.

This is part 2 of my DNF series - which aims to normalize discussions about DNF, and I invite you to share your experience in the comments below so we can learn from each other experience.

In the first videos, having 44 / 44 x 100 miles finishes and no DNF, I provided my tips to avoid DNF. But we can't control everything that happens on race day, and ultra marathon are meant to push you to your limit. Hence, failure is some times unavoidable.

Today, we're discussing how to deal with the emotional rollercoaster, and take time to learn and grow from a DNF. Because just like in life, failure is not final - we can use this to learn lesson and grow. As we say, experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards. And although I don't have DNF, I have dealt with failure both in running and my personnel and professional life. Hopefully, these lessons will resonate with you. But again, I'd highly encourage folks to share their story, share how they have used DNF to grow and improve, to come back later and be successful.

The reason I want us to discuss about this, is that it's important to accept our shortcoming. We are not perfect, but we can improve. Living in denial of our shortcoming may feel good, but it's a barrier to self-improvement.

My hope is that these tips will help you achieve your goals.

As always - Thanks for watching and remember -
