Going back to the raw devastation I felt on 2/14/2017β¦.living in Lafayette and hearing the news. I identified so much with Libby. I could not bear to drive to South Bend to visit my friends for so long because it meant passing right by that bridge. So many rumors were flying around early. Then the chaos ensued. Social media went nuts with narrative gatekeeping. The tips poured in. Fundraising took off. And LE held everything βclose to the vest.β It took a contested election to yield any movement in the case. Court filings and then later βleaksβ would call into question everything and start to shine a light on what the truth could be. But at the very beginning, there were two young girls. Best friends. And their names were Abigail Williams and Liberty German. Three months prior, in the neighboring community of Flora, arson claimed the lives four sisters: Keyana Davis, 11, Keyara Phillips, 9, Kerriele McDonald, 7, and Kionnie Welch, 5.
To all who believe one pharmacy tech with no criminal background is responsible for the evil in Carroll County, I pray for you.
May truth and justice prevail.
