I worked in a pre-fab company doing jus that. We built using a template for various rise and runs. We would get 4 out of one cut. I learned how. Ended up doing spiral stair case on custom homes/cabins. Its a joy to do.

I consider myself handy with a circular saw, but damn single-cut stringers don't end up identical. No doubt about it, I gotta get a bigger saw! 😅

Make sure your blade is nice and wide so it doesn’t bend. I don’t cut treads very often so I just cut one at a time. I’ve noticed there tends to be some deflection. I was using a thin kerf blade.

how did you get that Sawzall to cut that square? I have never gotten a square cut like that through multiple 2x's.

Make sure to mark out the hypotenuse before using the stair gauge. Guarantees you don't start adding or subtracting small distances on each step. (You can see the small lines so they did it here)

I thought about doing that but I had some really inconsistent PT so just went to town with my corded MAG 77 and cut them individually. They all matched each other perfect

I used my chain and free handed it with just my eye, no measurements nor pencil. Yeah it was 5 steps on the side of my deck but they feel natural. Been using them for over ten years😊
